Clonakilty is the Greatest Town in the UK and Ireland

Some of you may have known for a long time. But now it’s official, Clonakilty is the Greatest Town in the UK and Ireland. Yet another reason to add to the list of what makes Clonakilty a fantastic stag party location.

The West Cork town of Clonakilty, only a short drive from Cork City, earned this huge honour on Thursday evening. The Urbanism Awards in London is where this brilliant acclaim was bestowed upon the town.

Clonakilty fought off competition from Todmorden and another great stag party location Blackpool for the award. The assessment team noted that:

“The quality of the town centre and the town’s location close to the sea and beautiful beaches make it an attractive place to live, do business and visit.”

We’ve been raving about this West Cork town for years, with its huge list of great stag party activities. The fantastic bars and clubs on offer. And no one can deny that Clonakilty has one of the best Live Music scenes on the island.

This isn’t the first Urbanism award to grace the Rebel County. Last year alone Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork city won the ‘Great Street Award’.
