Top 5 Wedding Surprises

The traditional wedding goes a little bit like this…first off you’ll have the wedding ceremony with your family and friends. Then the bride and groom and their bridal party will head away to get some pictures taken. Meanwhile the guests head to the reception area and await the arrival of the newlyweds. Then the speeches and the meal come along. Finally, they’re followed by the First Dance and after that the party really starts! Sometimes the order may be different, but that’s the main gist of how the traditional wedding goes. It’s all pretty routine. So here are our Top 5 Wedding Surprises!

Every now and then, people like to surprise their guests by throwing a spanner into the works and they do something that adds a modern twist that slightly breaks away from the tradition. We’ve come up with 5 of the best wedding surprises to really make your wedding stand out among the rest and leave a lasting memory in your own minds as well as your guests’.

1. Perform a Dance with the Groomsmen

If you want to really surprise your wife and guests and you’re usually the quiet type, then this idea is perfect for you! You and your Groomsmen must book a few dancing lessons from a choreographer in the build-up to the wedding, learn a dance routine and perform it on the wedding night…preferably after the First Dance! It’ll get the whole room into the dancing mood and if you are usually the quiet type then it’ll show people your fun side too.

2. Have a Funny First Dance

Similar to the previous idea, this one requires you to learn a dance routine with your wife to be. Instead of the traditional First Dance that’s normally a slow dance done to a slow song, you could change it up and surprise your guests by choosing a more upbeat song that’ll require your finest dancing shoes.

3. Write and/or Sing a Song

If you’re the musical type then everyone will know it. But if you’ve kept it a bit of a secret or if it’s just never came up, then maybe this is your chance to really surprise people and blow them out of the water by showing them what you can do. Your wife will love it, especially if she doesn’t expect it. Your guests might even join in and sing along with you.

4. Organise a Photobooth

This one is the perfect surprise to plan for when you, the bride, and the bridal party are off getting your wedding photos done. Organise a photobooth to be there and ready to go while you’re away. That way, your guests can get their own little photo shoot done. It’s a great way to pass the time while the guests wait around for the bridal party to get back.

5. Order a Caricature Artist

This one is also a perfect filler for when the bridal party is away taking their photos. Bring in a caricature artist to let the guests have their pictures reimagined in a really exaggerated style. It’s a great way to get the laughs going and to set the mood for the night ahead.

Whether it’s performing a dance with your wife or groomsmen, or organising a photobooth for your guests, we think these are some great ideas to include as surprises on your wedding day. Include one in your wedding. You’ll be guaranteeing your guests will have a great surprise. And it’ll be something they won’t forget anytime soon.
